New Health Information Network website | 07.10.2007 | 06:55:45 | Views: 5414 | ID: July 10 '07: Government Health IT reported that a new website has been launched by the National Health Information Network's agencies last week "to provide tools, information and resources for companies and public organizations." The website will be the "starting" point for obtaining information for medical first responders and health officials, GovHealthIT reported. The new webiste called HIT Implementation Testing and Support was developed through a partnership working to create interoperable standards for research, response and implementation of best practices. Those agencies working on the website included the Certification Commission for Healthcare Information Technology, Healthcare Information Technology Standards Panel, the National Institute of Standards and Technology, and the Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology in the Department of Health and Human Services. GovHeatlhIt reported that in an emailed response, HTSP Chairman John Halamka said the information will help to "provide [health IT] implementers with access to the tools and resources needed to support and test the implementation of standards-based health systems."
