Honeywell announces mass notification service for healthcare and academic institutions | 07.11.2007 | 10:45:22 | Views: 8113 | ID: July 11 '07: In a press release, Honeywell announced a new web-based notification system for the healthcare industry and academia. Instant Alert© Plus can send 100,000 30-second phone calls about disasters, terrorist attacks, or other emergencies to cell phones, pagers, email, PDS's or regular land-line phones. Mike Taylor, the vice president of Honeywell's marketing in the Americas said the new technology will use "multiple communication channels to reach people no matter where they are, helping leaders provide timely, accurate information in a crisis." According to the press release, "Along with broadcasting information, Instant Alert© Plus can generate real-time reports that show who has and has not received a message. It also has a two-way communication function that gives organizations the ability to poll and get feedback from employees or the public. And the service allows users to develop an unlimited number of subgroups - e.g., emergency responders, board of director and security personnel - and send customized messages to these groups."
