The Continental Divide Disaster Behavioral Health Conference is a partnership between the University of Colorado at Colorado Springs, and the Colorado Department of of Human Services Division of Mental Health. On its website, the CDBHC said its goal was to promote "the creation of exciting, innovative partnerships that improve interventions," between "Scientists and practitioners [who] must come together in order to infuse one another's work with new ideas and understanding that will spark innovation in practice and in science." Topics for the conference include lessons-learned from recent large disasters like 9/11 and Hurricanes Katrina and Rita; community resilience planning; triage, treatment and tracking during and after pandemics; mental health preparedness and response and its partnerships; and ecological models for community resilience to prepare for pandemic influenza."
