The Operation Rapid Response "demonstrated synergies in advanced technologies," like the iMapData software from ChoicePoint and Tridium's Niagara Framework©. In another press announcement released by ChoicePoint, the company said its technology was used during the exercise which "simulated two events that previously occurred in the Jewish Hospital & St. Mary's Healthcare service area: an F4 tornado and a train derailment." "Exercise participants had to 'respond to' damage to the hospital form hail and large debris, power and telephone outages, and an influx of patients with various medical emergencies," the press announcement read. Both technologies are designed to provide information frameworks that can display resources, maps, media, and network communications, and breakpoints. Tridium's Niagara Framework uses a standard Internet browser to control information. Hospital officials who worked and participated in the exercise said they were happy with the results and that the successful integration of the two technologies provides a "quantum" leap in the ability for private sector organizations to prepare for disasters.
