Building best practices of business continuity after 9/11 at MetLife | 01.17.2008 | 09:19:06 | Views: 6532 | ID: January 17 '08: In an archived story on the BNET.com page, MetLife was reported to have worked with "security teams and other financial services companies, as well as the FBI and other law enforcement agencies," in the days proceeding the attacks on 9/11. The company has put into place a Business Continuity Plan which seeks to protects its customers and employees' assets. On the company's page, the continuity plan stated that "Local crisis management teams are in place in all MetLife Locations. These local crisis teams are charged with recording and managing any potential or actual crisis at the site from the time a situation occurs to the resolution of the incident and resumption of normal business operations." Each one of those crisis management teams are located at the "more than 100 major MetLife locations," BNET reported. "The enterprise team, which meets twice monthly, is composed of representatives from HR, corporate communications, legal, information technology, and facilities and services, and is headed by" the the company's vice president of security.
