Rapid ResponseŠ emergency response system installed in Idaho schools | 01.22.2008 | 07:59:08 | Views: 5341 | ID: January 22 '08: Regional school officials in Coeur d'Alene, Idaho said last summer that they would begin to use the Prepared Response Inc.,'s Rapid ResponseŠ crisis management system. Rapid ResponseŠ has been used in other parts of the country such as South Carolina. Meridian Joint School District officials said the software will be used in the elementary, middle, high school and administrative buildings. Jim Finnel, the president of Prepared Response Inc., said "Our experience shows that joint collaboration between school officials, first responders and other community partners in developing emergency response plans can greatly improve response to emergencies." The software allows users to analyze and use "more than 300 pieces of data including tactical plans, floor plans, aerial and geospatial imagery, interior and exterior photos, staging areas, hazardous materials quantities and locations, utility shut-offs, and evacuation routes for all schools," the company's website read. In South Carolina earlier this year, the company said it would be working with the Kershaw County school system. Prepared Response's Rapid ResponseŠ is the only crisis management system in the country to date that has received certification designation under the SAFETY Act from the Department of Homeland Security.
