American Hotel Association partners with renovation and remediation company | 01.24.2008 | 12:59:01 | Views: 6200 | ID: January 24 '08: Hospitality Net reported earlier last year, just before hurricane season, that the American Hotel & Lodging Association was partnering with Response, a recovery, cleanup, renovation and remediation company. The company has had a history with renovation and disaster remediation services for hotels on a national and regional level following the Katrina and Charlie hurricanes. The AH&LA will use Response's First Response Program. The First Response Program focuses on remediation and business recovery and continuity immediately following a disaster. Services include mobile command and communications centers with Internet and satellite TV access, and the ability to sleep four emergency management officials. The First Response Program's mobile command center also is able to "pull 21,000 pounds of supplies." Dinesh Chandiramani told Hospitality Net, "It will always be a challenge to get a hotel up and running following a disaster. But, in times of emergency, Response's First Response Program has a proven track record of quickly getting hotels in working order so they can focus on the needs of their guests and clientele." Hospitality Net continued, "Following Hurricanes Charlie and Katrina, Response worked closely with national and local hotel management teams in Florida and Louisiana to restore their hotels to a functional level within weeks following the devastation left behind by these natural disasters." Response's cleanup teams helped with "management teams in safely removing and replacing damaged sheetrock, furniture and carpeting."
