Port Association joins stakeholders in Charleston | 01.24.2008 | 14:09:13 | Views: 5919 | ID: January 24 '08: The Maritime Association of South Carolina/Port of Charleston (MAPCHA) is working to bring together community members under one organization while serving as a conduit for communication to ports and its stakeholders. During the ReadyCommunities's Charleston Pilot, MAPCHA helped to coalesce resources and manpower from many sectors by using and supervising the Essential Public Network. MAPCHA's work helped those involved produce a clearer picture of resource allocation and manpower capabilities when responding and recovering from a crisis. MAPCHA was founded in 1926 and actively pursues all organizations, companies and local public agencies who have a stake in maintaining the safety, preparedness and resiliency of the Port of Charleston.
