Dickinson College installs emergency notification network | 01.29.2008 | 07:57:38 | Views: 5373 | ID: January 29 '08: In a press release, 3N (The National Notification Network) announced a new partnership to install an emergency notification network at Dickinson College in Carlisle, PA. The company said it plans to install the InstaCom mass notification system to act as a "virtual operations center," during a crisis. According to the company's website, the InstaCom notification system "streamlines voice and text communications to tens, hundreds, or thousands of recipients through virtually any delivery method for daily operations and emergencies." The system, the company continued, can be used for "organizations of all types and sizes to communicate with customers, employees, vendors, partners, emergency response teams, students and others flexibly and in a variety of situations." Dickinson College officials said 3N was chosen out of a pool of 15 other vendors because of their "broadest range of contact capabilities with a redundant system that acts as a failsafe so that we needn't worry about system downtime."
