The biannual scholarship was developed by the company "to reduce the financial burden of individuals that are focused on starting or furthering their education in the EMS field," the company said on its website. So far, the company said it has awarded more than $216,000 through the Legacy Scholarship Awards. "Through the company-sponsored Bound Tree Medical Legacy Scholarship Program, those who have a family connection to the emergency medical services field are given the opportunity to apply for financial support to ease the financial burden association with EMT and Paramedic education process(es)," the company said. In addition to providing EMS and EMT scholarships, the company said it is in the unique position to distribute much-needed medical supplies in the event of an emergency through the company's Emergency Disaster Support Program, begun in 2005.
