The plan, called "Operation: Every House Prepared," will begin March 3 with the city delivering 15,000 emergency preparedness informational packets to citizens in the City of Bothell, and the Snohomish County Fire Protection District #10 households. The program is funded by a grant from the State of Washington Military Department and a federal grant from the Department of Homeland Security totaling $34,788. Each of the informational packets contain a flyer and bilingual index sheet with local emergency services contacts; a letter about emergency preparedness from Bothell Mayor Bob Stowe; a resource guide from the Washington Military Department for emergency preparedness; local emergency supply vendors; and those who have helped develop the resources. About 200 people helped to put together the packets. Volunteers participating in delivering the packets will go door-to-door on March 3. The city will mail out packets to residents that are not in the city limits, the press release said.
