According to a press release in addition to general health issues, participants are working to find ways to increase community pandemic preparedness. The event is sponsored by Trust for America's Health with the cooperation of the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, the education and awareness programs. According to a recent report released by the group, a pandemic in the U.S. could have devastating consequences for the national economy if communities and businesses do not adequately prepare. In addition to the private sector organizations at the summit, several former and current state governors will remark "about public health policies and practices that can help Americans live healthier lives," the press release announced. The seminar also will feature a Fred Friendly Seminar on pandemic flu preparedness called "Pandemic Flu: The Virus That Could Change The World."(Click below to download file) oshapandemic.pdf
