Proxtronics solution establishes radiation baseline information for situational awareness | 03.11.2008 | 10:03:27 | Views: 6195 | ID: March 11 '08: The technical and management services company Proxtronics, based in Springfield, VA has developed a Mobile Transportation Radiation Monitoring System (MOTRAMS) which measures and establishes baseline radiation levels along roadways, railways, waterways and within communities. The MOTRAMS solution is equipped with GPS tracking technology so that in addition to having a real-time situational awareness of an area's baseline radiation, geographically-sensitive information can be included in field reporting. In related news, Purdue University announced that it was working on a technology to incorporate radiation detection into cellphones. To help with the development, the school partnered with AT&T who donated the air time for the project.
