The new solution allows medical personnel to transfer records remotely and quickly and gives other personnel immediate access to that information. The new technology, Spot Vital Signs LXi, is able to automate and send basic vital signs using 802.11b wireless technology to a central database Welch Allyn has developed called the Connex Data Management System. Vital Signs Business Manager Dave Perkins said in the press release, "The speed of the Spot Vital Signs LXi revolutionized vital signs capture ... Adding wireless capabilities to this device dramatically reduces the amount of time it takes to take and document vital signs, meaning providers have more time to spend with their patients."
