Resolve Marine deploys for water-based response operations | 05.02.2008 | 09:31:48 | Views: 6079 | ID: May 2 '08: To help federal, state and local officials respond to emergencies on the water, Resolve Marine Group has developed a national network of professional responders who can handle chemical spills, on-board fires, and natural disasters. In recent past, the group helped local officials in San Francisco when an oil tanker spilled several tens of thousands of gallons into the San Francisco Bay. On its website, Resolve Marine said it "maintains several warehouses full of specialized salvage, firefighting and hazardous materials response equipment on the U.S. East, Gulf and West Coasts. A majority of our equipment," the company said, "is packaged in portable baskets, wheeled units, and skid-mounted units for rapid deployment via ground, sea, or air transport." Having that capability is especially important when dealing with time critical situations such as during the San Francisco Bay spill. San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsome's office said timing was of the utmost importance. Immediately after the spill, the city employed the help of first responders, the Coast Guard and local citizens who volunteered to help clean affected wildlife. Resolve Marine has a variety of other services including marine towing and salvage, firefighting and HAZMAT response, wreck removal, ship reefing, maritime training and environmental services.
