DHS launches National Response Framework Resource website | 01.23.2008 | 12:18:47 | Views: 6514 | ID: January 23 '08: The Department of Homeland Security has launched a new resource website called the National Resource Framework Resource Center. The website's goal is to allow for emergency management officials, community organizations, religious organizations and public officials to come together and share best practices and ideas as well as find solutions to some of their preparedness and response questions. The new website also comes with the final copy of the National Response Framework (PDF) which was released in draft form earlier in 2007. In an overview available on the website, the department said its framework would provide "the guiding principles that enable all response partners to prepare for and provide a unified national response to disasters." The new website showcases the new emergency support function designations - totaling 15 - in addition to eight support annexes and incident annexes. The National Response Framework "supersedes the National Response Plan and more adequately serves as a guide to how the nation conducts incident response," the overview said. "The Framework is intended for executive leadership and emergency management practitioners at all levels of government, as well as private sector, and nongovernmental organizations (NGOs)," the overview said.
