Some of those new upgrades include disaster recovery products as well. According to Information Week, CA released in mid-February "The newest version of ARCServe Backup, CA (NYSE: CA)'s backup automation software ... It sports a new centralized management console to make local and remote backups easier. It also has upgrades for virtualized environments, including integration with VMware Consolidated Backup (VCB)." In addition to the upgrades, CA has included added support for increased security encryption "and the software can encrypt data as it moves from disk to tape," Information Week reported. On the CA wesbite, the company said its recovery management software "integrates, simplifies and automates data protection and recovery tasks," so that personnel can "manage costs and complexity, minimize risks and meet business continuity requirements, while improving data and application availability and user productivity."
