Portable software uses technology to mobilize hard drives to help in disaster response | 08.02.2007 | 10:27:11 | Views: 5481 | ID: August 2 '07 MojoPac has released new software which lets the user carry their vital applications and information with them - allowing them to boot up into any PC. According to the company's website, the MojoPac software "virtualizes the Windows operating system ... [while] installed applications and application configuration are all encapsulated ... so that they can be moved from one physical machine to another without dependency on the hardware or the Windows operating system." The company has said that their technology is ideal for remote-access collaboration and telecommuting - both essential to continuity of operations and situational awareness during an emergency. Currently, there are three suites the company offers: MojoStation, MojoDrive, and Mojonet. Each one varying in complexity and security accordingly. Additionally, "Any Windows computer can be transformed into a secure, managed corporate desktop complete with access to the software, networks and critical information needed," the company said. Apple computers using Boot Camp or Parallels currently do not have the capability to use the software.
