The WeCar program has been targeted to students and faculty who need may need transportation quickly or for a family emergency. The program's website has been set up to allow those who will use the cars to contact Enterprise and get a pin number which activates the car. All cars are hybrids and are in line with Enterprise's desire to provide cleaner and more sustainable transportation. Tom Shrout, the executive director of Citizens for Modern Transit said the WeCar program "will provide people who take transit to work or live downtown the freedom of having an automobile without the hassel and expense of driving and parking downtown. ... [T]he WeCar program [can be used] for everything from personal errands to family emergencies." The partnership between Enterprise and Washington University in January has now been expanded to the greater St. Louis area. The cars also come with 24-hour customer service and emergency roadside assistance. National Blueprint Tags: Transportation & Logistics, Economic & Infrastructure, Citizen & Community
