Carnegie Mellon announces new business resiliency software | 03.31.2008 | 07:09:44 | Views: 5625 | ID: March 31 '08: The Software Engineering Institute at Carnegie Mellon and the Financial Services Technology Consortium have announced the release of the CERT (R) Resiliency Engineering Framework a press release announced. The software provides a roadmap for organizations and businesses "to establish, manage and evaluate operational resiliency which encompasses both security and business continuity." "The framework consists of over 20 comprehensive capability modules, giving organizations the flexibility to implement as few or as many as their needs and strategies require," the press release read. Rich Caralli, the technical lead for the CERT project said, the collaboration between SEI and FSTC has allowed engineers working on the project to "release a roadmap specifically designed for organizations to be flexible and straightforward to implement across all sizes of enterprises and their suppliers." On the CERT website, SEI said their resiliency technology research helps to focus "on developing tools, techniques, and methods to help organizations improve their operational resiliency management capabilities. FSTC is a "consortium of leading North American-based financial institutions, technology vendors, independent research organizations, and government agencies, whose goal is to bring forward, test, prove and validate the next generation of critical financial services technologies and how they can be applied industry wide," the FSTC website read.
